Swedbank, SEB earn lion's share of banking profit in Lithuania

The majority of commercial banks and foreign bank branches were profitable this year, with two thirds of the total profit of 271.859 million euros earned by Swedbank and SEB, the latest figures from the central Bank of Lithuania show. Banks' total profit inched down by 1.3 percent, or 3.537 million euros. Nine banks and foreign bank branches were profitable and 6 incurred losses.
