Sun Finance marks EUR 2 billion in issued loans

The total amount of loans issued by Sun Finance, a Latvia-based fintech company, has reached two billion euros since its inception. The company managed to achieve this milestone shortly after the sixth anniversary of Sun Finance.

A year and a half ago, Sun Finance celebrated its first billion in loans issued. The company informs that the first billion mark was achieved within 53 months since Sun Finance launched its operations, while the second billion was reached in just 19 months after that. 

“We have grown significantly over the years - now the volumes we issue on a monthly basis are more than double the total amount issued in the first year of our operations. Moreover, we are pleased to see growth in all our markets,” says Toms Jurjevs, the founder and CEO of Sun Finance.

Since the launch of Sun Finance’s first product in 2017, the company has been able to increase the loan issuance level on a year-on-year basis. In its first year of operations, Sun Finance issued EUR 35 million in loans. In 2020, facing the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sun Finance’s issued loan amount had already reached EUR 300 million. The year 2021 was closed with more than EUR 400 million in loan sales, while the loan issuance volume during 2022 reached EUR 700 million.

“Our goal has always been steady growth, so we are particularly happy that we have managed to stay on the course regardless of the various global economic turbulences. This level of growth has been sustained by continuously expanding geographically and in terms of product range; for example, recently we announced the launch of operations in the Philippines,” says Toms Jurjevs.
