TALLINN - The Estonian Centre for Defence Investments (RKIK) and the company Nitrotol OÜ have signed an agreement for the production of military explosives and ammunition, including mines and charges, at the defense industry park being established in Ermistu, Pärnu County.

Asko Kivinuk, Deputy Director General of the RKIK, thanked the company for its good and smooth cooperation. "Nitrotol OÜ has already started production in Ämari, and the first deliveries to the Estonian Defence Forces will soon come from there. The experience gained from Ämari will certainly contribute to the new and larger production unit being completed smoothly and as quickly as possible," Kivinuk said. "I would also like to thank the notary office partnering with RKIK for their utmost precision and thoroughness in preparing such complex agreements," he added.

In the first phase, four companies will be able to establish their factories in the defense industry park being built in Ermistu, Pärnu County - Nitrotol OÜ, Frankenburg Technologies OÜ, Infinitum Strike OÜ, and Thor Industries Ltd through its Estonian-registered company Odin Defence OÜ.

Production in Ermistu is planned to start in 2027. Nitrotol OÜ will produce mines and charges, Odin Defence OÜ will produce plastic explosives, Frankenburg Technologies OÜ will build a factory complex for the production of short-range air defense missiles, and Infinitum Strike OÜ will manufacture ammunition components.

Agreements with the other companies are expected to be reached in the near future.
