The State Audit office is planning to audit Latvian healthcare and pension systems in the near future, as Auditor General Elita Krumina says in an interview with Latvijas Avize newspaper.
The Audit Office wants to evaluate the hospital care system and treatment of diseases that is paid for by the state, says Krumina. The Audit Office is also planning to revise the pension system, the situation in the social insurance budget, and special pensions. “This will be a special, wide-ranging study,” adds Krumina.
