RIGA - First held in 2007, Positivus combines a variety of genres, including indie, pop, folk, electronic and more styles in between. The festival always takes place during an extended weekend- from Thursday afternoon until Sunday morning of the third week of July. Positivus Festival is the largest music and arts festival in the Baltic States that takes place every year in the middle of July. Every year Positivus Festival is becoming more and more popular in Europe. It is a festival with international chart toppers and underground emerging talent set in an idyllic holiday location. Positivus Festival has been awarded the title “Best European Festival.” There are more than five stages where performs artists such as Ellie Goulding, Bastille, Hurts and, of course, Latvian artists as well.

This year will be no exception. The magnificent beauty of Salacgriva’s coastal region deserves the most melodic of soundtracks - a tune as stunning and undiluted as nature itself. Now, for the first time in Positivus Festival’s history, one of Latvia’s most prominent composers and producers Vladislav Nastavsev will fuse his luminous piano tunes with the surrounding forces on nature. Don’t miss out of this historic solo performance on the festival’s Arts and Nature stage.

A composer, whose performance will engulf you in an array of sensations and sounds, Nastavsev’s work is as soulfully intricate, as it is intimate and romantic. Using only his vocals, piano and poetry, the composer is a true minimalist and ascetic - adding the lyrics of Mihail Kuzmin, Federico Garcia Lorca and Josif Brodsk to his own compositions, Nastavsev is known for having meaningful, soul bearing conversations with his audience through his music.

Nastavsev is the first announced Arts and Nature stage artist, with the rest of the line-up coming soon. This year’s Arts and Nature stage will be re-introduced with a brand new concept.
Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters, St. Vincent, Basement Jaxx, Tom Odell, Jungle and many others are also amongst the first Positivus Festival 2015 artist names.

Never before has the first Positivus Festival artist line-up list been as elaborate as this year’s. It’s safe to say that Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters will be the most legendary festival performers. One of the greatest singers in the history of rock and roll is set to perform tracks from his magnificent and critically acclaimed album recorded with The Sensational Space Shifters, as well as some timeless Led Zeppelin classics.

This year’s line-up will also feature several live-electronica bands - countless dance-floor anthem producers and two BRIT Award winners Basement Jaxx, Mercury Prize nominated modern soul debutants of 2014 Jungle, and the most ingenious contemporary alternative music diva and winner of 2015 Grammy award  St.Vincent. Tirelessly crazy parties will be thrown by the energetic indie pop artists Fenech-Soler and the psychedelic King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizards. After a two year break, Positivus Festival will once again host bittersweet lyricist Tom Odell, who’s currently working on his new album. Other festival heartthrobs will include the vivid musical landscape painter Jack Garratt and one of the most promising US American singer-songwriters Max Jury. Many might find bands like the mysterious Swedish electro-pop band Kate Boy or the passionate Irish songstress Soak to be unexpectedly enjoyable festival discoveries.
