RIGA - Saeima Speaker Inara Murniece (National Alliance) will be in Poland on a working visit until this Thursday to learn about Poland's situation with the reception of Ukrainian war refugees and discuss with parliament speakers from other European Union (EU) member states closer cooperation in supporting the war-affected people, LETA was told at the Saeima press office.
The visit of women speakers of EU parliaments to Poland is being organized in show of solidarity with Ukrainian women that are forced to flee their war-ravaged country.
Murniece, along with other parliament speakers, will visit the Polish-Ukrainian border and refugee reception point at the Ukrainian border. In Warsaw, the speakers will visit a humanitarian assistance center and discuss the support provided by the member states to Ukrainian refugees and measures necessary to improve coordination among EU member states in the provision of support.
Murniece is visiting Poland at Polish parliament Speaker Elzbieta Witek's invitation.
