RIGA - Since presidential elections in Belarus on August 9 and escalation of the situation, Latvia has issued 89 visas to Belarus citizens, the Latvian Foreign Ministry reported.
The ministry said that visas have been issued to those who suffered from Belarus and are currently receiving medical treatment in Latvia, and those who are fleeing political persecution. The ministry said that this does not mean that the visas have already been used.
