RIGA - Latvia and Greece are close allies in the European Union (EU) and NATO, Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina (New Unity) said at a meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Athens on Thursday.
The State Chancellery informed LETA that Silina was on a working visit to the Greek capital on Thursday, where she met with Mitsotakis to discuss opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation and regional security issues.
During the meeting, the two sides reaffirmed their shared vision for a more secure Europe, stronger external borders and unwavering support for Ukraine.
On Thursday afternoon and Friday, Silina is scheduled to attend an informal European Council meeting in Cyprus, convened by European Council President Antonio Costa.
