RIGA - The new shopping and entertainment centre Akropole will open its doors to visitors on April 4. Its nearly 170 tenants include fashion and lifestyle stores, representing already beloved brands as well as new ones, along with various service providers, restaurants and cafés. Akropole also boasts an elegant and spacious Maxima XXX grocery store and an outside parking lot providing parking space for 2,300 cars.
According to Akropole Riga CEO and Akropolis Group Board Member Kaspars Beitiņš, as one of the most modern shopping and entertainment centres in the Baltics, Akropole will offer its visitors a brand-new shopping experience, as well as diverse leisure options. “Very soon, on 4 April, everyone will be able to discover and enjoy the long-awaited shopping and entertainment in Akropole, while appreciating the latest trends in architecture and interior design, which have been skilfully combined with the heritage of the former Kuznetsov Porcelain Factory. We’ll be delighted if Akropole becomes a desirable destination for every Rigan and visitor to the city.”
Akropole will be home to the first Van Graaf multi-brand store in the Baltics, as well as first stores in Latvia for such brands as Oysho, Deichmann and sports clothing retailer USC. Here visitors will also be able to find the biggest Zara and Reserved stores in Latvia, as well as the first River Island store featuring also menswear. An extensive range of caterers in over 30 restaurants and cafés will provide an eclectic mix of flavours, ranging from French and Italian cooking to all kinds of Oriental dishes. Gourmands will be delighted by the first Grill London and Paslēptās receptes restaurants in Latvia. Classic North American dishes, Tex Mex cooking and delicacies from other countries will be served in O’Learys Sports Bar and Restaurant. Meanwhile French bakery and pastry shop Thierry will tempt visitors with the delicious fragrance of freshly baked bread, and Ali Chocolate – with fine handmade chocolate delights.
7-million-euro investment in the first Apollo Cinema in Latvia
The new shopping and entertainment centre will also be home to the first Apollo Cinema in Latvia. Run by the Estonian movie theatre chain Apollo Kino, who have invested 7 million euros in this project, it will be the biggest and most modern Apollo Cinema in the Baltics so far. Apollo Cinema will have nine screens and a total of 1,140 seats, including two cinema restaurants and the first IMAX auditorium in Latvia. Viewers will be able to enjoy the most modern sound and image technology in luxurious seats made in Italy. In both cinema restaurants viewers will be able to order meals and drinks during movie screenings and enjoy them without leaving their tables. Snacks and drinks can also be ordered by those who choose the ultra-comfortable Apollo Star seats fitted with small tables, located in the top back rows in five other auditoriums.
Akropole will be the only shopping centre in Latvia to have a large indoor skating rink suitable for hockey trainings and games, as well as ice shows and skating. Visitors will also be able to enjoy quality leisure time in the new O’Learys entertainment centre that offers bowling, pool, various sports game simulators, an interactive climbing wall and other exciting possibilities. Likewise, Akropole will also be home to the most up to date Lemon Gym and offer a wide range of entertainment and leisure options for kids, including an outdoor playground.
As announced earlier, Akropole is one of the biggest construction projects in Latvia in recent years, with total investments in the implementation of the project reaching just under 180 million euros.
