HELSINKI – Shipper Tallink Silja hopes that the check of COVID-19 documents will be relocated to the port of departure, where it is easier to prevent crowding than when the ship arrives at its destination.
Tallink Silja would like COVID-19 documents to be checked already upon the vessel's departure. COVID-19 vaccination, testing and virus recovery documents would be checked faster at the port of departure than on arrival.
The reason is that on arrival, passengers leave the ship in a group and crowding occurs. Upon boarding the ship, passengers' arrival at the port is more spread out.
