SG Capital Partners AIFP (SG Capital) together with leading Baltic pension funds has made a first close of its Sustainable Forest and Land Fund. Fund focus is on forest land investments and sustainable management in Latvia and other Baltic countries. Fund target size is EUR 100 million and new investors will be added during the coming years. Current fund investors include Citadele (CBL Asset Management), SEB and Swedbank pension funds.

“Forest investments, like no other asset, provide a unique combination of inflation protection, low investment risk, attractive investment returns and distinct positive sustainability features. Given all the challenges of today’s investment management industry, few investments can do it better than forests. Moreover, our goal is to generate a significant positive impact on the environment with our forest management practices and actions. Being first in the market, we would have lots of challenges ahead of us during the coming years,” says Harijs Švarcs, founding partner, SG Capital.

SG Capital Partners AIFP is Latvia based licensed Alternative Investment Fund manager established in 2015. Besides forest investments, SG Capital is managing EUR 150M (gross) sustainable commercial real estate fund. Amongst its investments is Skanstes City business park in Riga and Nordo logistics park in Dreiliņi. SG Capitals’s key focus is on sustainable investments in real assets in Baltics.
