Security Police: Spying case suspect remanded in custody

RIGA - A Latvian resident who was caught collecting classified information for a foreign country has been remanded in custody under a court ruling, BNS learned from the Security Police (DP). DP spokeswoman Liga Petersone said that criminal action was taken on Sept. 27, based on an assessment of counterintelligence obtained over a longer period of time. Since the criminal investigation is still ongoing, the DP were unable to provide additional details on the case, declining to identify the court that ruled to keep the spy suspect in custody or to reveal ...
