In Riga, the capital of Latvia, inside co-working space Teikums, health tech company Kilo Health has opened its new office. By now, it is the sixth city in which their team can work. The company already has offices across Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Berlin, and Kyiv.

The new location selected deliberately

The co-working space Teikums usually gathers a diverse crowd of business representatives and freelancers. Kilo Health’s head of HR, Ilona Bernotaite, highlights and appreciates that the mentioned space hosts community events ranging from educational lectures and seminars to entertainment, i.e., street food festivals, movie nights, and more.

“At our company, culture and general atmosphere are super important, so we wish for our colleagues working in other European cities to feel truly well. By settling at the co-working space, we also have an opportunity to acquaint ourselves deeper with various local talents and partners. We see vast opportunities to attract new team members,” the specialist implies.

Acquiring more Latvian talents in the plans

Currently, the company has three colleagues from Latvia, although it is expecting an increase. Head of marketing within Kilo Health diabetes management product, Toms Zalmanis, who is Latvian, accentuates that even though the neighboring countries share numerous similarities, they have their differences too.

“Although the Lithuanian and Latvian markets are very similar in many ways, I see a couple of differences in the labor market. In my opinion, it is easier to find an employee with international experience in Lithuania thanks to several really successful start-ups. Despite this, I know that there are many strong specialists with very wide knowledge in Latvia. Therefore, the expansion of Kilo Health to Latvia is natural. It's a great opportunity to join a team with big plans” believes T. Zalmanis.

In 2020, Kilo Health was listed on the Financial Times Europe’s fastest-growing companies TOP 1 000 and “Deloitte Technology Fast 50” ratings - becoming the 2nd in both lists, while the Meet Frank website ranked it as the most popular employer in 2021. Kilo Health develops more than 15 products to help users lead healthy lifestyles and enjoy a quality life while living with chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, and mental health problems.
