Sanita Bajare to head Finance Latvia Association

RIGA - Sanita Bajare has started work as the head of Finance Latvia Association, LETA learned from the association.

The association also informed that in total 20 candidates had applied or were addressed for the position. The selection process was conducted by Amrop recruitment company.

"Most of the association's council members supported Bajare in the position. Finance Latvia Association is a significant partner to the government, parliament, business organizations and other organizations. With Bajare as the head of the association we will continue the started dialogue in strengthening the role of the financial sector and enforcing the fight against money laundering," said the council chairwoman Ieva Tetere.

Bajare has been the head of the euro project at the Finance Ministry in 2005-2011, the Finance Ministry's state secretary in 2011-2014, a member of the European Investment Bank's council in 2012-2014, worked in a leading position at the World Bank in 2014-2016, and in charge of corporate services at Citadele bank in 2016-2018.

As reported, Sanda Liepina left the position of the association's board chairwoman in June.
