RIGA - Saeima web servers are currently under a major distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack launched by cyber criminals who support Russia's war in Ukraine, as IT security incident response institution Cert.lv representative Madara Krutova told LETA.

Thanks to security solutions employed to protect Saeima web servers and cooperation with Tet technology company, Saeima's work was not interrupted.

According to Krutova, cyberattacks on other state institutions may do more damage as not all state institutions' resources are protected equally well.

As reported, in an official statement passed earlier today, Saeima recognized Russia's violence against civilians in Ukraine and other countries as terrorism, and Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
