RIGA - On Tuesday, August 2, Saeima Foreign Affairs Committee will consider a statement labeling Russia a terrorist state, as the committee's head Rihards Kols (National Alliance) told LETA.
"Russia's immoral war against Ukraine has been particularly cruel and barbaric, indiscriminately torturing, maiming and killing both military personnel and civilians," said Kols.
The committee's meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 11 a.m., the meeting will take place remotely, according to information published on Saeima's website.
The U.S. Senate last month unanimously approved a resolution calling on the Department of State to designate Russia as a terrorism sponsor for its attacks in Ukraine, as well as in Chechnya, Georgia and Syria, that resulted "in the deaths of countless innocent men, women and children."
