RIGA - On Friday, May 7, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Saeima will meet with Leonid Volkov, ally to Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny, the chairman of the committee Rihards Kols (National Alliance) told LETA.
He said that the meeting with Volkov was planned to discuss the situation surrounding Navalny and his movement, especially in view of the new measures taken against the movement by Russian authorities.
MPs also plan to ask Volkov about civil society in Russia and its future prospects, looking at the issue in the context of the forthcoming Russian State Duma elections.
The head of the Foreign Affairs Committee informed that on Friday Volkov is scheduled to meet with representatives of all three Baltic states.
