In the Latvian exclusive economic zone, a Russian Kilo class military submarine was detected on Aug. 4, the National Armed Forces reported.
The submarine was detected seven nautical miles from Latvia’s territorial waters.
As of June 20, Russian military aircraft and ships have been detected near Latvian borders 395 times this year.
National Armed Forces have identified 349 Russian planes, and 46 instances of Russian ships approaching Latvia’s sea border.
