Russia uses every chance to destabilize situation in other countries - Kalnina-Lukasevica

RIGA - Russia uses every opportunity to destabilize situation in other countries, said Saeima deputy speaker Zanda-Kalnina Lukasevica (New Unity) at the European Council Parliamentary Assembly debate on the role of Russia in escalating situation in Moldova.

She underscored that the pressure Moldova is facing due to Russia's aggressive foreign policy is huge. Kalnina-Lukasevica understands and praises Moldova's ability to resist Russia's manipulation and hybrid threats.

"The response to Russia's attempts to destabilize situation in Moldova should be obvious and unified, we all together should help Moldova to strengthen its resilience," she said.

Kalnina-Lukasevica praised Moldova for accepting Ukrainian refugees which is an example of humanity, solidarity and democratic values.

She underscored that the EU support has helped to reduce the impact of Russia's war in Ukraine on Moldova, including in energy sector.
