RIGA - Russia is not as strong as it wants to present itself, but it is also not as weak as we would like to see it, foreign affairs expert, MP Andris Spruds (Progressives) gave this assessment to Latvian Radio this morning.

According to the MP, Russia is using all resources to try to show that it is impossible to solve the situation in Ukraine and the region in general without Russia, therefore it is important for the West to support Moldova as well, because the spread of instability would not be desirable.

Spruds predicted that the West will be very reluctant to engage in negotiations with Vladimir Putin's regime, even though dialogue cannot be done completely without it.

Evaluating military activities, Spruds noted that Russia is not sparing either the lives of people of other nations or its own citizens in this war.
