MOSCOW – The Office of the Prosecutor General of Russia has declared the Open Estonian Foundation an unwanted association in the territory of the Russian Federation.
"Following an examination of the materials received, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Russia made a decision to declare the activities of the foreign NGO Open Estonia Foundation unwelcome in the territory of the Russian Federation," the Office of the Prosecutor General of Russia said in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the Russian chief prosecutor's office, the activities of the Open Estonia Foundation pose a "threat to the foundations of the constitutional order of the Russian Federation and the security of the state."
The Office of the Prosecutor General of Russia noted that the decision was forwarded to the Russian Ministry of Justice, which will add the Open Estonia Foundation to the list of foreign and international NGOs whose activities have been declared unwelcome in the territory of the Russian Federation.
