RTU tops list of education institutions recommended by employers - survey

RIGA - Riga Technical University (RTU) has topped the list of Latvian universities recommended by employers and Riga Technical College has been named the most recommended college, a survey by the Latvian Confederation of Employers and Prakse.lv career website shows.

The survey reveals that this year’s list of the most recommended study programs includes the bachelor’s program in computer sciences at the University of Latvia. The Top-10 of the most advisable study programs also include the University of Latvia’s communications and management sciences programs (bachelor’s programs), as well as two programs offered by Turiba University – tourism and hospitality management and business management. The surveyed employers also recommend BSc in Economics and Buisness, a study program offered by the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga), as well as several other study programs in computer sciences, finances and construction.

The Top-10 of the most advisable higher education institutions include RTU, followed by the University of Latvia, the Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technology, Turiba University, BA School of Business and Finance, Riga Stradins University, RISEBA, the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, Vidzeme University and Transport and Telecommunication Institute.

The five most advisable colleges include Riga Technical College, College of Law, Riga Building College, Alberta College and the Latvian Culture College.

This year, the lists of most advisable education institutions was based on a survey of 2,654 enterprises representing all sectors of the economy.
