RTU to discuss with 3 US universities cooperation in technology and innovation

RIGA - To develop cooperation in innovation and technology skills, specialists from the State Chancellery, Foreign Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) and representatives of Riga Technical University's (RTU) Business School are today meeting with representatives of the University at Buffalo, New York, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University, LETA was told at the State  Chancellery. 

The talks are expected to focus on future cooperation prospects, extending study opportunities for Latvian PhD students and school teachers in the US. Another important topic will be innovation laboratories in the field of education, so that public administration, entrepreneurs and universities can jointly develop solutions for improving human resources needed by the national economy, the State Chancellery said.

Cooperation with all three universities has already enabled researchers, academic staff and students to participate in exchange and professional development programs, the State Chancellery added.
