Latvia's most important event in the fashion industry - RIGA FASHION WEEK - will change its location in its 31st season, that will happen from October 29 to November 2. This fall the main fashion shows of the RFW will be held at the newly opened Hanzas Perons building.
This autumn, a former Riga cargo railway warehouse in the New Hanza area has been reborn as a concert hall – a platform for culture, art, music and other events. Combining building’s more than 100 years of history with a modern approach it became an efficient, functional space to organize and hold events - Hanzas Perons. After renovations, the building retained its historical image, remaining a landmark of the city’s rapid industrial development, yet gained a new purpose and has become a new destination for culture in Riga.
"Having organized RIGA FASHION WEEK for already 15 years, it has always been important for us not only to show the best achievements of the local fashion industry to the international community and to give the most talented young designers a chance to start, but also to discover new and the most interesting places in Riga. Hanzas Perons is a stylish place that for sure will make the cultural life in Latvian capital more diverse," Elena Strahova, the President of the Baltic Fashion Federation says.
From October 29 to November 2, 2019, RIGA FASHION WEEK will feature the spring-summer 2020 pret-a-porter collections from the best Latvian fashion artists and invited designers from other countries.
