RIGA – Riga International Airport today welcomed its 5,3900,000th passenger this year, setting a new annual passenger turnover record.
The passenger, a resident of Estonia, had arrived in Riga on board of airBaltic flight from Tallinn.
The airport's board member Normunds Freibergs said during the ceremony that the airport's passenger turnover would continue to grow in the coming years also. About EUR 100 million has been invested in the development of the airport during the past several years.
