Rescuers evacuate 6 people after ceiling collapse

BNS/TBT Staff - No one was injured but six people had to be evacuated when a part of a wooden ceiling fell down in a two-story apartment building in the northeastern city of Kohtla-Jarve on Tuesday evening. The rescue center received a call at 6:38 p.m. about the collapse of a wooden ceiling between the upper floor and the attic of a house with 16 apartments at Kalevi street in Kohtla-Jarve. Rescuers who arrived on the scene established that about 10 square meters of ceiling had fallen down, also breaking a gas pipe, spokespeople for the rescue center for East Estonia said. ...
