Rauno Klettenberg, a Member of the Management Board of FinanceEstonia, who previously served as the Head of Transaction Advisory Services at Ernst & Young Baltic AS Estonia will assume the position of Chairman of the Management Board of Holm Bank in July.

‘I have occupied a number of different roles within the financial sector and spent most of my career in banking. Considering the market situation, the thought of returning to this sector sounded appealing. The role and the importance of local banks in keeping the lifeblood of the Estonian economy circulating is increasing significantly. In addition, the coming changes in banking as a whole present a challenge,’ said Rauno Klettenberg, new Chairman of the Management Board of Holm Bank.

‘Regardless of its strong and long history, Holm Bank AS has only recently become a bank. We have a good team, a growing organisation and, most importantly, a loyal and trustworthy customer base, with whom I wish to continue this company’s success story. I would like to thank Indrek Julge – who has decided to continue his entrepreneurial activities – for leading Liisi’s growth into a bank,’ he added.

From May, Holm Bank started offering the best deposit interest among all banks, and began issuing business loans to enterprises. The domestic bank will also continue to offer hire purchase, credit cards, and small loans under the trademark of Liisi. As Chief Executive Officer, Klettenberg intends to begin guiding the chosen strategy, implementing it, and growing the business into something more broad-based.

‘Together with innovative and comfortable banking services, I still find a flexible and supportive customer relationship to be very important; which is definitely an advantage for Holm,’ said the Chairman of the Management Board of Holm Bank.

Rauno Klettenberg has long-term experience in financial intermediation and finance, including more than 15 years in the banking sector. Klettenberg has formerly worked as the General Manager of Svenska Handelsbanken AB Eesti filiaal, as Chairman of the Management Board at NASDAQ Tallinn AS, as Head of Transaction Advisory Services Estonia for the business consultation and auditor's office Ernst & Young Baltic AS, and as a Member and Chairman of the Management Board of the financial sector’s representative organisation FinanceEstonia.

Holm Bank AS is the first credit institution in Estonia licenced by the European Central Bank. As a bank, deposits and interest in Holm Bank are covered by the state deposit guarantee for up to 100,000 euros.

Holm is a family-run bank based in Haapsalu and founded on Estonian capital. Its predecessor Koduliising AS has offered hire purchase under the Liisi brand for 23 years and has more than 2000 points of sales at 1100 partners and has had over 350,000 clients over the years.
