RIGA - The prosecutor's office and civil engineer Ivars Sergets' lawyer have lodged their respective appeals against the first-instance court's verdict in the case on the collapse of a Maxima supermarket in Riga's Zolitude neighborhood in 2013.
In its protest, the prosecutor's office asks the appeals court to invalidate the part of the Riga City Pardaugava Court's ruling acquitting several of the defendants in the case and the sentence handed down to one of the defendants, LETA was told at the prosecutor's office.
