RIGA - The primary goal is to sell and donate the vaccines with close expiration dates, said Health Minister Daniels Pavluts (For Development) at the government meeting today.

4,730 Vaxzevria vaccines will expire on April 30, 92,172 Comirnaty vaccines, 53,980 Comirnaty vaccines for children and 5,420 Spikevax vaccines will expire on June 30.

The data for March 14 suggest that of the 5,142,135 purchased vaccines, 2,864,321 vaccines have been used, administering 4,542 vaccines a week on average. At the same time, 487,470 vaccines have been donated so far.

At present, there are 1,681,682 vaccines in stock in Latvia.

Pavluts said that vaccines are still being delivered to Latvia, but at lower numbers than earlier.

In the coming month, Latvia plans to receive 634,228 vaccines.
