Presidents of Latvia and Finland to discuss regional security

RIGA - Latvian President Egils Levits will met Finnish President Sauli Niinisto in Riga Castle next Monday to discuss security in the region, LETA was told at the Latvian president's office. 

The meeting of the two president will also focus on bilateral cooperation, as well as Baltic-Nordic cooperation. 

After the talks, the presidents will make a brief statement to the media. 

In the afternoon, the Latvian president will host the annual meeting of Baltic presidents in Riga Castle, welcoming Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda and Estonian President Alar Karis. The presidents are expected to discuss the security situation in the region, support to Ukraine and regional infrastructure matters, including energy and the Rail Baltica project. 

The meeting will be followed by a joint news conference of the Baltic presidents.
