President says to believe in presence of Christmas miracles

RIGA - Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis sent his Christmas greetings to the nation.

''Christmas is a time of hope and reflection. The time when the daily haste has ended, and we open our hearts to overwhelming joy,'' the president said.

''It is also the time to believe. A belief not only in the presence of miracles, but also in the fact that we can create miracles with our good thoughts and deeds ourselves. We must only believe that everything is possible if we really want it,'' Vejonis added.

''Let Christmas time bring inner peace, confidence in your strength, and faith that inspires you to go in for good deeds! May we spend Christmas with our loved ones and relatives! May peace and harmony reign at every home! May your Christmas be happy and full of love!,'' the president went on to say.
