President Dalia Grybauskaite's decision to veto Lithuania's new Labour Code may return the country to its old labour legislation, which is a reminder of the Soviet era, Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius said on Monday.
"Obviously, the head of state turned a deaf ear to the arguments of scientists, progressive businesses, international institutions, Lithuanian youth organisations, employers, and political forces from across the spectrum," he told reporters.
