RIGA - The government today continued work on the government declaration, including the topics and vision proposed by President Edgars Rinkvics, the Progressives co-chair Andris Suvajevs told LETA.

The Progressives believe that it is necessary to produce a transparent declaration which the media and the public could follow.

Asked about the coalition agreement, the basic principles of which have already been agreed, Suvajevs indicated that the coalition partners might "go through" the text of the coalition agreement again in future negotiations.

According to Suvajevs, the next formal talks could tentatively take place at the end of the working week and focus on human rights issues.

Today's formal talks did not discuss the distribution of ministerial portfolios among the parties, as informal negotiations are ongoing. "The Progressives believe that there should be no problems in that respect, Suvajevs said.

As LETA has already reported, the future coalition formed by New Unity, the Union of Greens and Farmers the Progressives under the leadership of prime minister-designate Evika Silina has started drafting the new government declaration, the coalition agreement and a list of immediate tasks to be completed by December and January.
