TALLINN - Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid on Wednesday expressed condolences to the loved ones of the men who lost their lives when a minibus fell through the sea ice in Parnu County on Tuesday.

"My deep condolences to those who lost loved ones on Parnu Bay yesterday. It is difficult for all of us and it is not important whether these kinds of accidents are just waiting to happen or not," the head of state said on social media.

"I sincerely call for everyone to take care of themselves and their loved ones both in traffic and overall. Look out, notice, interfere, if needed. There are few of us and any kind of loss like that makes the heart sink," the president said.

Four people were killed on Tuesday when a minibus fell through the sea ice near the port of Manilaid in Parnu County, while two of the people in the vehicle escaped the sinking vehicle and were taken to hospital.
