President of Georgia to discuss Euro-integration, war in Ukraine with Lithuanian leaders

VILNIUS – President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili will on Monday arrive on an official visit to Lithuania, during which she will discuss her country’s prospects for European and Euro-Atlantic integration, the security situation, and the war in Ukraine with Lithuanian leaders.

President Gitanas Nauseda and his Georgian counterpart will also talk about bilateral relations, the presidential press office reported adding that Zourabichvili will also visit the Ukrainian Center together with First Lady Diana Nausediene.

On Monday, the Georgian leader is also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte and Seimas Speaker Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen.

Zourabichvili will pay an official visit to Lithuania. The Lithuanian President paid an official visit to Georgia in June 2021.

A former French diplomat with more than 50 years of diplomatic experience, Zourabichvili was elected the first female president of Georgia in 2018. She was born in France to a family of Georgian refugees.

The Georgian president openly calls for closer ties with the West and criticizes the country's ruling party, but her powers are limited.
