President Nauseda wants 2021 budget to reflect idea of welfare state

Lithuania's 2021 state budget must reflect the idea of a welfare state and a new economic model, President Gitanas Nausėda said on July 14 after discussing the priorities for next year's budget with Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis. Nausėda called for continuing the indexation of pensions, increasing the tax-free income threshold and investing in improving the quality of education as the economy recovers, his office said in a press release after the meeting.
