President hands credentials to 7 Estonian ambassadors

TALLINN - Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid in Kadriorg on Tuesday handed credentials to seven ambassadors who are to start heading Estonia's foreign representations.

"It is in the power of Estonian ambassadors to make Estonia bigger and do their best in protecting the interests of our country and doing what is important to us -- preserving freedom and democracy. As a small country, we cannot stray from this course and you can make Estonia stronger," Kaljulaid said at a meeting with the ambassadors.

Margus Laidre is to soon start as Estonia's ambassador to Russia, while Toomas Kukk is to start as the country's ambassador to Austria, Toomas Tirs as ambassador to Belgium, Martin Roger as ambassador to Poland, Vaino Reinart as ambassador to Japan, Harri Tiido as ambassador to Finland and Eva-Maria Liimets will start as ambassador to the Czech Republic.
