TALLINN – President Kersti Kaljulaid on Wednesday appointed Alar Laneman to office as Estonia's new minister of the interior.
The appointment was made on the proposal of Prime Minister Juri Ratas.
Ratas on Tuesday made a proposal to the president to appoint MP Alar Laneman as the new minister of the interior.
The interior minister post, which belongs to the Estonian Conservative People's Party (EKRE) under the coalition agreement, was left vacant following the resignation of Mart Helme on Nov. 9.
