Pope appoints Lithuanian priest as apostolic nuncio to Ukraine

VILNIUS – Pope Francis on Tuesday appointed as Apostolic Nuncio in Ukraine the Reverend Msgr. Visvaldas Kulbokas, Nunciature Counsellor, elevating him at the same time to the Titular See of Martana, with the dignity of Archbishop, the Lithuanian Bishops’ Conference reported.

H. E. Msgr. Visvaldas Kulbokas was born in Klaipeda, Lithuania, on 14 May 1974.

He was ordained a priest on 19 July 1998, and incardinated in the archdiocese of Telsiai, North-West Lithuania.

He graduated in Theology.

He entered the Holy See Diplomatic Service on 1 July 2004, and served in the Pontifical Representations in Lebanon, Netherlands, Russian Federation, as well as in the Section for Relations with States of the Secretariat of State. From 2020, he has been serving in the Apostolic Nunciature in Kenya.
