RIGA - Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) is scheduled to meet European Parliament President Roberta Metsola this Thursday, LETA was told at the State Chancellery.
The meeting is expected to focus on the European Union's (EU) continuous support to Ukraine, holding Russia to account for its war crimes in Ukraine, as well as applying further sanctions on Russia and Belarus. The officials will also discuss possible EU-wide measures aimed at reducing energy prices.
As reported, Metsola, will make a working visit to Latvia this Thursday, October 27, to meet with Latvia's top officials and participate in a youth discussion on the future of Europe. Metsole will arrive in Latvia at the invitation of Saeima speaker Inara Murniece (National Alliance), marking Saeima's centenary.
