RIGA - Most members of the National Alliance will participate in March 16 events at the brethren cemetery in Lestene, and not the Freedom Monument.

Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis (Greens/Farmers) has called on government ministers not to participate at March 16 events at the Freedom Monument.

Most top officials from the National Alliance, including Saeima Speaker Inara Murniece and Culture Minister Dace Melbarde, have said that they intend to participate in March 16 events at Lestene.

Meanwhile, Justice Minister Dzintars Rasnacs said that he will lay a wreath by the Freedom Monument ''whenever he finds the time to get away from work'' that day.

It has been unofficially reported that no government ministers from the National Alliance will be participating in March 16 events by the Freedom Monument.
