PM: Universities should focus on raising productivity in Estonian society

TALLINN - According to Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas, who visited the Tallinn University of Technology (TUT) on Tuesday and held a lecture, raising productivity in the society has to be an important priority of the state, the private sector as well as educational institutions.

According to Ratas, TUT deserves recognition as a university that in cooperation with companies helps innovation-based economy to grow, spokespeople for the government said. "This direction is definitely right and there should be even more such cooperation in Estonia," Ratas said, adding that TUT has an important role in increasing productivity in the society.

Ratas held a public lecture at the university on Tuesday in which he focused on administrative and state reforms. After the lecture he met with the administration of TUT.
