People with symptoms will be able to take Covid-19 tests without doctor's referral

RIGA - Taking into consideration the rapid spread of Covid-19 in Latvia, people with symptoms of the illness will be able to take Covid-19 tests without a doctor's referral, LETA was told at the Health Ministry. 

The new rule is being introduced to allow people book their tests timely and ease family physicians' workload. 

A person with Covid-19 symptoms like signs of a respiratory infection, increased body temperature, loss of smell and taste, etc., can book a Covid-19 test at the nearest testing facility without a referral from the family physician.

People with Covid-19 symptoms can book tests by calling the centralized hotline 8303 or to concrete laboratories. Covid-19 tests can also be booked on the websites of the laboratories or Riga Eastern Clinical University Hospital.
