Pasarzieru Vilciens plans to purchase ticket machines for EUR 2.484 million

RIGA - Pasazieru Vilciens (Passenger Trains) rail passenger carrier plans to purchase ticket machines for EUR 2.484 million, according to the information published on the Procurement Monitoring Bureau website.

Pasazieru Vilciens has announced a negotiations procedure on procurement of ticket machines, their installation and software.

The planned sum of the agreement is EUR 2.484 million, excluding value added tac (VAT).

As reported, Pasazieru Vilciens (Passenger Trains) rail passenger carrier turned over EUR 52.379 million in 2022, which is an increase of 18.7 percent against a year before, while the company's profit rose 0.2 percent year-on-year to EUR 592,350.

Pasazieru Vilciens was established in 2001 to separate domestic passenger services from other functions performed by the state-owned Latvijas Dzelzcels (Latvian Railway). Although initially Pasazieru Vilciens was a 100-percent owned subsidiary of the Latvian Railway, in October 2008 it was transformed into an independent state-owned company.
