RIGA - The output of eggs in Latvia reached 795 million in 2019, according to the Central Statistical Bureau.
The statistics office said that all kinds of poultry produced 416 eggs for each resident, which is by 17 eggs more than in 2018.
Three million hens in 2019 laid 775 million eggs or by 21.8 million more than a year ago.
The number of organic eggs also keeps growing - by 164,000 eggs to two million in 2019.
The preliminary data suggest that in 2019 each household member ate 210 eggs a year on average.
