Latvia's top-ranked lady tennis player Alona Ostapenko on June 26 defeated Estonia's Anett Kontaveit in straight sets to become this year's winner of the Eastbourne WTA 500 series tennis tournament.
Wild card Ostapenko, currently 43rd in the WTA rankings, beat Estonia's top player Kontaveit (WTA 27) 6-3, 6-3 in the final match.
