Order of Three Stars bestowed on Dutch king

RIGA - During King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands visit to Latvia yesterday, exchange of state decorations took place as sixteen citizens of Netherlands, including Willem-Alexander, were conferred Latvian state decorations, President's Chancery informed LETA.

Order of the Three Stars, First Class, and the Chain of the Order of the Three Stars were bestowed on Willem-Alexander. He also became Commander of the Great Cross.

The Order of the Three Stars, First Class, was also bestowed on Queen Maxima, who though could not come to Latvia as she had to attend the funeral of her sister Ines Zorreguieta.

The Order of the Three Stars, Second Class, was bestowed on Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok, Adjutant General to Willem-Alexander and Chief of the Military Household, Rear Admiral Ludger Brummelaar, and several members of the Dutch Royal Court.

Also, the Order of the Three Stars, Third and Fourth Class, was bestowed on a number of Dutch officials and Royal Court members, including the Dutch Ambassador to Latvia Pieter Jan Langenberg.
