RIGA - According to a survey conducted by the research center SKDS, 79.7 percent of Riga residents have a positive opinion of Riga Mayor Nils Usakovs, who is also the leader of Harmony Center, a party with strong support among Latvia’s Russian speakers. But Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma appears to have less of a positive opinion of Uskakovs, recently calling him “Pinocchio,” the fairtale character whose nose grew each time he told a lie.
