RIGA - In wake of the bridge collapse in Italy earlier this week, the Riga City Council's Traffic Department told LETA that all of the 126 bridges, tunnels, overpasses are in either good or satisfactory condition except one.
The Traffic Department told LETA that only the Brasa Bridge in Riga is currently in poor or unsatisfactory condition.
City Council spokeswoman Una Ahuna-Ozola said that a tender has already been announced for the renovation of the bridge.
Ahuna-Ozola said that bridges, tunnels, overpasses are inspected at least once every five years to assess their conditions, and that currently 99 are in satisfactory condition, while 25 are in good condition.
