RIGA - Foreign fans will be able to attend the Ice Hockey World Championship matches only from those countries that are included in the so-called "safe countries" list, the tournament organizers informed at a press conference on Saturday.

According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers (CM) on Thursday, spectators will be able to attend World Championship game in person from June 1.

"Fans will be able to buy tickets only from those countries from which self-isolation is not required upon arrival in Latvia, provided that we can determine whether they have a valid Covid-19 certificate," said the head of the tournament's organizing committee Edgars Bunis.

According to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), the list of "safe countries" of World Championship participants include Great Britain and Finland.
